Your Mac provides several tools to help you identify it. The simplest is About This Mac, available by choosing About This Mac from the Apple () menu in the upper-left corner of your screen. The other is the System Information app. Learn how to use these tools to identify your Mac.
If you don’t have your Mac or it doesn’t start up, use one of these solutions instead:
- Find the serial number printed on the underside of your Mac, near the regulatory markings. It’s also on the original packaging, next to a barcode label. You can then enter that serial number on the Check Coverage page to find your model.
- The original packaging might also show an Apple part number, such as MMQA2xx/A (“xx” is a variable that differs by country or region). You can match the Apple part number to one in the list below to find your model.

Caring for any of our Lacquer finishes could be compared to caring for your car. Since our lacquers are of the same caliber as those in the auto industry, we recommend a similar process. For a thorough cleaning, we suggest you remove all lugs and hardware from the shell. Clean the drums with a solution of mild detergent (dishwashing soap works well) and water, then dry completely with a soft clean cloth. To add a great shine, procure a petroleum-based liquid wax from an auto parts store. Follow the directions on the wax using small amounts on a soft clean cloth. Applied sparingly will yield the best results. Here at the Workshop, we use Music Nomad Drum Detailer during final assembly (for Lacquer and FinishPly only) to give our drums that extra shine. You can order some for yourself at musicnomadcare.com/drumdetailer.html. back to top A light dusting will generally do in most cases for Satin Oil. For a more thorough cleaning, use a damp (not wet) rag and dry the shell immediately after. You may find it easier to clean the shell by removing the lugs and hardware. If you want to restore a little luster to the shell, use Minwax Tung Oil to accomplish this (found at most paint or hardware stores). After removing the lugs and cleaning the shells as described above, rub small amounts of the Minwax onto the shell. Using a clean cloth, rub it in thoroughly until it disappears. We recommend using single ply heads to achieve the maximum resonance. To begin, place the drum on a carpeted floor or on a towel over a table. Start with the bottom head making sure it is seated evenly with the tension rods finger tight. As you tap lightly on the head at each tension rod (about an inch in from the counterhoop), slowly tighten them. It works well if you start at a specific T-rod then move across the drum to the opposite one - then move two over - then across - and so on. Bring the tone up a little each time you go around the drum. To eliminate some overtones place your finger lightly on the center of the drumhead as you tap. Go to every other tension rod to fine-tune it, from one to the next. In the end, the pitch should be the same at each rod. What pitch that will be is up to you. The drum will hum once the shell's fundamental pitch is found with a sound similar to tuning a guitar by playing harmonic notes. When you're satisfied with that, flip the drum over and do the same on the top head. Be patient and don't be afraid to experiment. You can always try again. For a great pitch-bend, tune the bottom head down just a little. For the bass drum, tune the heads as loosely as possible - just enough to eliminate any wrinkles. Use the same tuning pattern above to achieve an equal pitch at each tension rod. back to top It is very important to protect your drums from damage and temperature extremes. It is recommended that cases or soft bags be used when transporting and storing drums. If your drums are set up for an extended period of time, keep them covered. Keep drums away from and out of damp or cold areas. back to top Extreme temperature shifts within a short period of time do pose a potential hazard to drum shells and their finishes. As humidity and temperature change, the moisture content within the cells of the wood is affected. This can make the shells expand or contract, warp or even crack. A general consensus among drum manufacturers has been that drums are safe and comfortable when stored in an environment in which you are comfortable in. back to top DW drumheads are a special design made exclusively for DW by Remo. They have pressed counter-hoops and a sharp angle around the bearing edge. This combination of factors allows the head to sit better on the bearing edge and produces a very resonate and clear tone. DW heads can be special ordered through your local authorized DW dealer. back to top Maple shells naturally have long and slow sustains ratios causing a warm and resonant tone throughout the drum. The addition of reinforcing hoops to maple shells provide strength, definition, and focus the overall sound. All reinforcing rings vary in size depending on the drums dimension. Birchwood shells tend to contain opposite tonal properties from maple. Birch naturally has short, fast sustain ratios causing a higher pitch and greater attack velocity. We do not install the reinforcing rings on the birch shells because of the overkill and choke that would result in doing so. Both types of wood are available in all finish, color, and size selections of the Collector's Series. back to top We build 'add-on' toms all the time. To produce an add-on, we need to know the note value and the sizes of all your drums. With this information, we can TimbreMatch™ your new drum to fit tonally with your existing set. If the finish is a lacquer or satin oil, we will have you send in one of your drums for a color match. Since maple and birch color & grain pattern can vary, we use the color match to be sure that the grain pattern and underlying color of the new tom matches your existing kit. Warranty claims should be addressed to an authorized DW Drums dealer, along with the original sales receipt. In the event that a dealer is unable to correct a warranty defect, the dealer will contact Drum Workshop for further instructions as to the return of said product to the factory for inspection and repair or replacement. Upon repair or replacement a new warranty will not apply. Rather, the previous warranty will be in effect. No shipments will be accepted without first obtaining a Return Authorization (RA) number. Any and all shipping charges will be the sole responsibility of the purchaser. This warranty gives the original owner of Drum Workshop products specific legal rights. He or she may also have other rights which vary by state, country or province. These provisions and limited warranty are covered by the laws where the original purchase took place. All products warranted under this specific coverage will be honored. back to top | For the bass drum pedals, there are a variety of adjustments. One of the most important is the side/duel adjusting hoop clamp. This allows you to modify the height of the clamp for your bass drum hoop. Once the adjustment has been made, a quarter turn on the side-hoop clamp is all that is necessary for set up. Using the allen wrench provided when you purchased the pedal, loosen the set screw on the round knurled nut above the hoop clamp. Adjust the nut to narrow or widen the gap of the hoop clamp for your bass drum. Remember to tighten the set-screw once you dial in the proper height. The spring tension can be adjusted by loosening the round knurled nut at the base of the spring. Underneath the ear of the base casting, pull down on the spring tension nut and adjust the tension by tightening it or loosening it. After you've dialed it in, keep it there by tightening the knurled nut above the ear. Another feature is the slotted stroke adjustment. This allows you to adjust the distance of the beater to the drumhead. Just loosen the drum key screw above the spring and set for the desired action. Delta II pedals feature a weight system that can be modified to suit your playing style. Simply loosen the screw that secures them to the post with a screwdriver and increase or decrease the weights for the desired response. And finally, there is the beater height. This is the most common adjustment to make. Loosen the drum key screw on the beater hub and raise or lower the beater as necessary. We recommend adjusting only one of these features at a time until you become familiar with the reaction they provide. back to top The only adjustment is for spring tension. Loosen the drum key screw just above the footboard. back to top To clean the stands or lugs and counter-hoops on your drums, most household appliance cleaners will work fine. Avoid any product that contains ammonia. back to top It's possible that you can upgrade to a double pedal, however, the answer really depends on your current pedal. The easiest way to upgrade is to buy a 5012--the primary side of a double pedal unit and the connecting universal rod. Your existing pedal will then be used as the slave pedal in the double unit. Before you order one, you will want to make sure that the stroke adjustment (the black, tear-drop shaped piece that sits above the spring) attached to the hex shaft is SQUARE. In other words, the end of the hex shaft that sticks out of the pedal needs to be square in shape. If not, the 5012 will not work. The tour runs for about an hour and we will walk through the entire 50,000 sq. foot factory. Some departments may be cool as others are hot and humid. We require all guests to wear “closed toe” shoes (running shoes, sneakers, boots, etc.). Guests that arrive to the factory wearing open toe shoes (flip flops, sandals, crocs, etc.) will not be allowed in the factory for safety reasons. Accessibility – Our factory has certain divisions with narrow walkways and standing areas for our tour guides and guests. Cameras – Photography is only allowed in designated areas throughout the tour to help document your factory visit. This is to protect some of our procedures as well as the custom ideas and finishes of our customers and artists. Please refrain from taking photos until allowed.
